All aspects of TopSolid are intended to manage the increased complexity of designing and machining manufactured products in today’s world. New within TopSolid 7 is a huge improvement to the selection of faces. This improvement is particularly useful when you are working with faces that are not perfectly tangent to one another making the selection of faces previously very difficult. Watch video
TopSolid 7 now has a way to control the end condition of a fillet. The new edge constraint mode allows end conditions to happen in a more variable way allowing you to simply select the two edges to be relative to one another and TopSolid does the rest. Watch video
TopSolid 7 now allows you to add in and out countersinks to any TopSolid standard drilling. This feature allows you to set both in and out countersinks and potentially related details – perhaps chamfer for example. TopSolid also allows you to manage these details within the mode most convenient to you – even at the assembly level. Watch video
Manufacturing can be challenging enough without having to redraw a part entirely just so you can machine it to the customers specifications. Thankfully TopSolid understands manufacturing. TopSolid delivers the tools that allow you to get your job done quicker and with less headaches. And getting your job done quickly and efficiently should be your #1 focus.
In this video you will learn how to use the Offset Shape command to apply either a constant offset on all faces of a solid model, or even a custom offset to specific faces. This can be used to prepare a part for manufacturing when you need to take into account a final coating that will be applied to the part.
Manufacturing is hard enough! But sometimes it can be made a to be a bit easier.
In this video, you will learn how to create and use an explicit family within TopSolid 7. An explicit family allows you to create one master document that will in turn allow you to control many documents downstream in the process. For example, in this video, we will import 3 parts that are the same geometries, just different sizes. Then we will turn them into an explicit family document within TopSolid 7. Finally we will use that family document to create all of the machining documents needed to manufacture each family method. This is a great example of TopSolid helping you to do your job more efficiently!
Drilling’s are easy! At least when they are simple they are. But in some cases you need to do more. In some cases you need to be able to create a drilling in a specific way. For example, maybe you want to be able to have 3 or 4 or even more drilling’s applied at the same time.
Thankfully, TopSolid makes this simple. In the following video tutorial, you will be shown how to create a multi-stepped drilling. AS well, you will be shown how to save that drilling to a library and reuse it in the future.
In this video, you will be introduced to Representations and given a sample of how to use them. In this case, we are going to create a special representation that allows you to include a sketch in your projected drawing. This can be a very useful tool to help you include specific information from design into a drawing.
Sometimes you need to be able to work freely. With TopSolid 7, this is not a problem. In this video you will see how to add a few standard connectors and then, more importantly how to create a custom hose to attach one connector to another.
In this video you will be introduced to creating a property based on a default list of options. To do this, we first create an enumeration document. Then we show you how to tie this enumeration document to a property that can then be applied to any other type of document within TopSolid.
Sometimes you struggle to put a complex blend into your part. And it is these times that you grateful that you are a TopSolid user! New in the 2016 version of TopSolid is a great new filleting function. One based on no radial value at all! Instead, the function automatically finds and creates the correct blend for the project based on the geometries you select. Think of that…a software that actually helps you do your job!
