Easily Set Colors & Machining Process for Drillings

Yet another new feature in TopSolid is the ability to set a specific machining process and color for each of the different steps in the drilling. This video shows an example specifying the spot facing machining processes, as well as the drilling process. The colors now show up differently as specified within the design and TopSolid CAM now knows exactly what to do for these drillings.

Improved Face Checking for Sheet Metal Parts

As we prepared to release TopSolid 7, we paid a lot of attention to improve the checking for continuity of sheet metal parts. For example, TopSolid 7 now makes sure that all of the faces are on the same side and if the faces are not in continuous form, you are notified of this error.

Errors result when you have not described your sheet metal part correctly, which typically occurs when importing sheet metal parts from third-party software. However, TopSolid now does a better job of alerting you to these errors so that they can be fixed and quality or overall design problems avoided.
